Hello, my name is Kimberly Kammerer.
I am a dually certified Special Education Teacher and Reading Specialist (K–12) with over 11 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. I have served students and families across multiple public school districts as well as with the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), working primarily with elementary and middle school students in both resource and adaptive settings.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with students with mild to moderate disabilities, moderate to severe disabilities, reading disabilities, math difficulties, and significant behavioral needs. I bring strong experience in developing and implementing data-driven IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting Behavior Intervention Plans, and creating structured learning environments that foster growth, regulation, and independence.
I am proud to have been recognized for my work, including being named Special Education Teacher of the Year at both the school and district levels. These honors reflect my commitment to inclusive practices, thoughtful instruction, and meaningful family collaboration.
What drives my passion is being a parent, too.
While my professional background shapes my expertise, my personal experiences as a parent are what truly drive my passion for this work. I am the parent of three sons — two of whom have walked their own special education journeys, one with an intellectual disability and one who has struggled with dyslexia. Navigating the special education system from the parent perspective has given me a deep understanding of how overwhelming IEP paperwork, meetings, and educational decisions can feel.
I know firsthand how important it is for parents to feel heard, informed, and supported.
Through K-Bridge Learning & IEP Services, my goal is to bridge the gap between schools and families. I partner with parents to help them understand their child's IEP, prepare for meetings, advocate with confidence, and support learning and behavior at home.
Whether I am reviewing an IEP, writing advocacy recommendations, tutoring a student in reading or math, or coaching parents through behavioral challenges, my approach is always collaborative, strengths-based, and family-centered.
I believe every child is capable of growth and every parent deserves a knowledgeable, compassionate guide along the way.
